Batty Nachos

  • RECIPE MAKES: 10-12 nachos
  • COOK TIME: 40 minutes
Step 1

Preheat the deep fat fryer to 180°C, according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 2

Add the Fate Low Protein All-Purpose Mix and baking powder to a bowl.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, add the remaining ingredients, stir well and allow to stand for 5 minutes, until thickened.

Step 4

Pour the thickened liquid mix into the bowl containing the Fate Low Protein All-Purpose Mix and knead into a dough.

Step 5

Dust a clean worktop surface with Fate Low Protein All-Purpose

Step 6

Mix and using a rolling pin, roll out the dough until 1cm in thickness.

Step 7

Using the cookie cutter, cut out 10-12 nachos.

Step 8

Using a slotted spoon carefully place the nachos into the deep fat fryer and fry for 2 minutes on each side or until golden.

Serving Suggestion:
Serve with salsa or guacamole.

  • 125g Fate Low Protein All-Purpose Mix (extra for dusting)
  • ½ tsp Baking powder
  • 95ml Water
  • 2g Psylium husk
  • 1 tsp Tomato purée
  • ½ tsp Fajita spices
  • ½ tsp Dr Oetker Food Colour Gel (colour of choice)
