MEET THE CHARACTERS

The Vitamites are a group of insects with PKU and they will pop up in various places throughout the club as well as featuring on many of our educational support materials, so keep an eye out for them as you continue on your Explorers Club Journey!

LENNY

Lenny the wise Ladybug is the ringleader of the Vitamites and likes to learn new things.

  • He’s the eldest member of the Vitamites
  • Wise, caring and bold
  • A natural leader, who the rest of the Vitamites look up to.

LIZZY BEE

Lizzy-Bee is a bumble bee, she is very busy and leads a very active lifestyle.
 

  • She never stays still, always shooting from place to place
  • She has a comical side, is very smiley and quite clumsy
  • Is caring and very endearing, wouldnt hurt a fly

ANTONIO

Antonio is an ant, he is super strong thanks to his healthy lifestyle.

  • He’s down to earth despite his overwhelming strength
  • Very reliable, calm and always offers a helping hand
  • He’s Lenny’s right hand man - but not the brightest spark!

FLORA

Flora is a butterfly, she is confident and likes to show off - showing that her condition shouldn’t affect self-esteem.

  • Flora loves being the centre of attention
  • She is very prim and proper and acts very responsibly

SPROUT

Sprout the caterpillar is always eating – showing the variety of a mostly vegan diet.

  • She is the youngest of the group
  • Is very cheeky because of her innocent and curious nature
  • She looks up to Flora the butterfly and wants to be like
  • her when she’s older.

SHELDON

Sheldon is a snail. He is slow, forgetful and can be lazy. The other Vitamites have to remind him to take his protein substitutes.

  • When he hasn’t taken his substitutes, he is very lazy
  • When Sheldon isn’t very well, his skin changes colour.
